Frequent inspections of the undercarriage, specifically track tension and shoe bolt tightness, prevent uneven wear on rollers and sprockets. If engine performance drops, check the fuel water separator for contamination and inspect the turbocharger for proper operation. Address any visible pin or bushing play in attachments immediately to avoid structural damage.

Major milestones require comprehensive evaluations of the swing machinery case, final drives, and hydraulic pumps. At 2,000-hour intervals, prepare for hydraulic oil changes and coolant flusc. Inspect the boom and stick welds for structural integrity. For high-hour machines, evaluate the replacement of the hydraulic tank breather elements and the inspection of nitrogen gas charge pressure in the accumulator to maintain system response.

In dusty environments, clean or replace air cleaner elements more frequently to protect the engine. During cold weather operation, implement extended engine warm-up and hydraulic system warm-up procedures. After long-term storage, verify battery charge, check for fluid leaks, and perform a full functional test of all controls.
