The torque-converter powershift transmission and final drives come next, worn by constant loader-cycle shifting. Undercarriage rebuild centers on turning or replacing the sealed track links, bushings, and sprockets that carry both digging and travel loads on this dozer-shovel chassis.

Cold starts on this naturally aspirated mechanical diesel take longer without electronic glow-plug assist, so check start-aid function and battery condition before cold-weather use. Drain the fuel/water separator often in humid or wet climates. Loader duty in mud and wet cuts accelerates undercarriage packing, so clean and inspect track links and rollers more frequently. In dusty conditions, clean the radiator and oil cooler cores often, since this machine has no auto-reversing cooling fan.
