Replace worn turbocharger boots and check wastegate function to maintain boost pressure. Inspect the injection pump and injector circuits for open circuits or resistance drops that trigger ECU fault codes. Ensure the tilt engine hood latches securely to maintain safe access to ground-level service points.

At 2000 hours, measure swing ring play using a dial indicator and check slew ring bolt torque on tracked variants. Inspect the heavy-duty mainframe and rear frame supports for unauthorized welding or cracking. Drain and clean the hydraulic tank thoroughly before refilling with JCB-spec hydraulic oil. Replace all seals and O-rings during major transmission or hydraulic pump repairs to prevent internal contamination.

In dusty environments, clean or replace the dual dry-element cyclonic air filter more frequently than the standard interval. Check the fuel water separator daily to prevent water ingress into the common-rail injectors. In cold weather, ensure the engine block heater is functional and use appropriate viscosity engine oil.
