Address frequent hydraulic hose failures by inspecting for abrasion against the Z-bar linkage and frame during every 250-hour service. Replace wiper seals on lift cylinders if fluid weeping is detected, as worn wipers allow abrasive dust ingress. Check the spring-applied, hydraulically released service brakes for pad wear and spring tension. Inspect the lock-up torque converter for slippage or overheating if transmission performance degrades.

Plan for major component overhaul at 20,000 hours or based on S.O.S analysis results. Inspect final drive gears and bearings for pitting or spalling during the 2,000-hour structural inspection. Evaluate the C11 engine for piston ring wear and cylinder liner scoring if oil consumption increases or compression drops. Check the transmission clutch packs for wear if shift times exceed specifications or if slippage occurs under load.

In cold climates, use Cat DEO-ULS Cold Weather oil and ensure the coolant mixture meets the required freeze protection. Drain the fuel water separator daily to prevent water ice blockage. In hot or dusty environments, clean the radiator and oil cooler fins daily to prevent overheating. Replace air filter elements more frequently in high-dust conditions. Inspect rubber components for UV degradation and hardening in high-temperature applications.
