The G325B has no engine oil to sample, so condition monitoring centers on the clamp and rotator hydraulic circuit. Pull a hydraulic-oil sample from the host carrier's attachment circuit on a set schedule and watch for rising particulate counts or water contamination, both early flags for cylinder or rotator-motor wear. Track rotation speed and clamp force against baseline; a slow rotator or a soft clamp signals internal motor or seal wear before it ever shows up as an external leak. Rising grease consumption at any pivot point is an early flag for bushing wear as well.

Most G325B repairs center on the clamp cylinder, the rotator motor, and the jaw wear surfaces. A weeping clamp cylinder calls for a reseal of the rod and piston seals; score marks on the rod usually mean it needs machining or replacement. A rotator that hunts, stalls, or loses torque points to a worn rotator motor or swivel seal, both field-rebuildable components. Jaw tips, cutting edges, and wear plates take the heaviest abrasion in demolition work and get replaced as a matched set once thickness drops below the safe margin, restoring clamp geometry and bite.

A full G325B overhaul centers on the housing, the linkage arms, and the pivot hardware tying the jaws to the shell. Elongated pin bores or cracked linkage plates call for bushing replacement or structural weld repair at a qualified shop before the tool goes back into demolition service. The rotator assembly is typically pulled as a unit for motor and swivel-bearing rebuild rather than serviced in place. Because the G325B shares its basic structure with the rest of the B-series grapples, reconditioned housings and linkage sets are reasonably easy to source secondhand.

Demolition sites load the G325B with concrete dust, rebar fines, and abrasive debris, so daily cleanout of the rotator housing and grease fittings matters more than the calendar season. In cold climates, switch to a low-temperature multipurpose grease at the pivot points so it still purges old grease and reaches the bushings, and let the carrier's hydraulic oil warm up before hard cycling in deep cold. Wash down the shell and jaws after wet or corrosive debris work, such as masonry and drywall demolition, to slow surface corrosion on the housing and pins.
